    Kanahâ Beach Park, Maui, Hawaii

Maui has been a top destination for water sports since the 1960s, and over the last few years Kanahâ Beach Park has gotten so popular with kiteboarders, it's earned the nickname 'Kite Beach.' Great reef breaks and strong Pacific winds make it a perfect spot to ride the waves. "Kanaha is one of my favorite spots on the island," says kiteboarder Samuel Medysky. "The Aloha vibe is always alive and people are stoked on and off the water."

  • Leucate, France

Located in the tiny city of Waves, about 30 miles south of Kill Devil Hills, "this spot is legit," according to kiteboarder Sean Buell. "The Slick has the smoothest flat water that I've ever ridden," he says. "An L-shaped grass bed blocks any type of wind chop from forming." Visit the Outer Banks for the annual Triple-S Invitational in June, and then "session the slick" for yourself.

  • The Real Slick, Cape Hatteras, North Carolina

Located in the tiny city of Waves, about 30 miles south of Kill Devil Hills, "this spot is legit," according to kiteboarder Sean Buell. "The Slick has the smoothest flat water that I've ever ridden," he says. "An L-shaped grass bed blocks any type of wind chop from forming." Visit the Outer Banks for the annual Triple-S Invitational in June, and then "session the slick" for yourself.

  • South Padre Island, Texas

One of the nation's hottest Spring Break destinations is also a mecca for water sports pros. "I love kiteboarding in SPI because of the warm weather and variety of conditions," says BEST Kiteboarding team member Nicole Corbett. "You have waves on the gulf side and flat water on the bay, so its great to mix it up."

  • Sauble Beach, Ontario, Canada

Sauble Beach is the second-longest fresh water beach in the world, and while this resort community sits on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, you couldn't be blamed for thinking it was somewhere on the Pacific. "The body of water is so large you'd swear you're on a fresh water ocean," says Samuel Medysky. "I spent my youth growing up on Sauble Beach— first enjoying building sand castles, and now surfing the wind and waves."

  • Supertubes, Smiths Beach, Yallingup, Australia

"My all time favorite spot," says wavekiter and BEST team member Nuno "Stru" Figueiredo, "because it delivers barrels, barrels and barrels." Expect massive 50-foot waves breaking over a shallow reef to deliver long, gorgeous rides.

  • Big Bay, Cape Town, South Africa

Big Bay is home to some of the worlds best kiteboarding, windsurfing and surfing conditions, according to Samuel Medysky, but this horseshoe-shaped bay also offers great boutiques and phenomenal food and drinks. "Whether your on the water enjoying the wind— or sitting beach side with a cold drink in hand, Big Bay is a spot for everyone," Medysky says.

  • East Beach, Fort De Soto Park, Pinellas County, Florida

Located on an island at the mouth of Tampa Bay, this long stretch of white sand is a favorite spot for local wave riders, and home to many pros, including Billy Parker and Alex Fox. "It's great because there's so much room to park and plenty of grass to set-up," says Sean Buell. "I'll ride all day on this butter-flat water until the sun sets over the Sunshine Skyway bridge."
